Happy holidays, everyone! We hope you are enjoying this time with your loved ones and staying safe and warm.
Danny’s re-induction chemotherapy started on Monday, December 19. He has a couple of days left. So far, he’s doing pretty well… he’s mostly tired. Physically tired, but also tired of the hospital! The harsher chemo side effects are typically a little delayed.
While we hoped for a Christmas miracle — Danny going home by Christmas day — we are spending the holidays in the hospital. Unfortunately, we’ll likely be here for another couple of weeks.
However, we are trying hard to make the best of it! The room is decorated with stockings hung just in case Santa visits hospitals (and we think he absolutely should)!!
We are so grateful to have each other. It’s times like this when you realize what the holidays are really about. Sure, the gifts are great, but there’s nothing better than spending time with the people you love. Nobody wants to spend Christmas or Hanukkah in the hospital, but this is where we happen to be. And there is no place I’d rather be than right here with the man who I’ve loved fiercely for 31 years.
It’s not all snowflakes and reindeer over here, but we grab moments of fun and silliness when we can. After all, laughter is some of the best medicine there is!
Merry Christmas Eve, and Happy seventh Night of Hanukkah! We hope your holiday is filled with so much joy, love, and warmth. Give those you love extra tight and especially long hugs. Spread kindness. Laugh a lot. And be grateful.
Keep those prayers, positive manifestations, healing vibes & energy, and good juju coming. Leave us your comments below!
